It’s the weekend! What are your plans for these glorious few days?

With the type of work I do, I’m pretty much always do some sort of work every single day. But, on the weekends, I try and shift things a bit. To be honest, my goal is to incorporate these things on NON weekend days as well. Because ultimately, life is about LIVING and we can’t just wait for the weekend to do that, you know?! But, that’s a point that I know most people have to work up to. So, let’s start with the weekend and then make our way from there!

I thought I’d share what I make sure to do on the weekends. I get all of them done in one way or another, and I’m a happier person because of it!

Note: I know everyone may not have a schedule that means Saturday and Sunday are your days “off,” but let’s start here. Most everything here can still be applied anyway. 🙂

So, here ya go. Let me know your thoughts in the comments! What do YOU do on the weekends? What are you looking to add to your weekend routine?

Time for Fun

What the actual “fun” thing is just depends on what’s going on at the time. It could be time with friends just hanging out. It could be a concert, a festival, an art fair. You get the gist. But it can just be something really simple like going for a walk, or sitting on a bench outside in the sun. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it’s FUN! What’s fun for you?

Get outside and/or on the water

You’ll see me talking about getting outside a LOT. It’s so key to happiness and health! The benefits are endless. And, I don’t take any excuses. Even it’s cold out, just bundle up and get out there! So, I always make time to do something outside. I’m usually outside the entire weekend for the most part. Whether it’s walking, paddleboarding, going on the boat, the beach, the park, they all count. Get. Outside! What’s your favorite thing to do outside?

Relax in bed

There is something so delicious about not popping out of bed right away in the morning. It’s comforting and relaxing, isn’t it?! Even if it’s just 10 minutes, it makes a world of difference. I like to just chill and do whatever I please – it could be reading, watching TV, watching a webinar, or just staring outside in silence. Try it! And don’t feel guilty about it. You deserve it! What do you like to do to relax in bed?

Go to the market

Ahhhh, the sounds and smells of the Farmer’s Market are a must-do on the weekend. I love the mid-week ones, too, but I always try and hit up the weekend ones since those are usually the ones some of my friends can make as well. I love picking up fresh produce, finding new products, and just hanging out in the sun. You’d be surprised at how many absolutely amazing things you can find at the Market. A lot of my coolest and best finds are from there! Where is your favorite Market?

Watch Sunday Morning

This TV show is the bomb! I have it on a regular recording schedule, but I love watching it live if I can. Lying around reading the New York Times and watching it is the best thing ever. It’s a bit hard to explain what the show is about. You just have to watch it. Trust me! It’s sort of a magazine style show with human interest stories. It’s just incredible. Every single week I watch it and say, “Wow!” It’s on CBS from 9am – 10:30am on Sunday mornings. The website for it is HERE. What’s your favorite weekend show?

Prep for the week

Again, even though I have an unconventional schedule and my weeks aren’t really dictated by the weekends, I still use the time to prep for the next bit. The prepping could be my calendar, food, goals, etc. I also look for things that I need to cancel that next week. Some things require a 24-hour cancellation notice, so I make sure I’m on top of it. What do you prep for on the weekends?

So, there ya go! Just a few things that I make sure I do on the weekends. It’s so crucial to LIVE and find happiness and joy every single day of the week. But, like I said, the weekends just tend to be a place where most people can for SURE find time for that. So let’s start here and really keep in mind how you can find happiness and joy on OTHER days of the week as well. We’ll get ya there, no worries!

Until next time. Peas and happiness!
